Happened to be in Kunnam ,its a very very small village of only 6 main streets, near to Sirkali,Tamilnadu. The approach to the village from chidambaram-sirkali road is a narrow ,bumpy, muddy road for about 5 km. The road is surrounded by paddy fields on both sides, which is a very scenic. Its a very fertile region, but I feel the lifestyle of the people is very pathetic. I wonder what the MLA , local panchayat officials are doing!! The people there seem to be surviving with great difficulty. But, there is not a single complaint from them! In fact they were all praise for the current chief minister to have given them rice/jaggery for this pongal! What do you say these people. Should I say they are ignorant or being used by the officials who work only for filling their pockets!!! From what I see, no real welfare work has been done!! I met a gentleman. It seems he is the doctor in that village for last 30 years! Hats off to him, he is doing real service to that local community. I am reminded of this Chinese proverb.
"I was sad because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet".
